Under the auspices of the Minister of Civil Service in Sultanate of Oman HE Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, the Statistical Center of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC-Stat) held its annual party 2016 in Intercontinental Muscat Hotel.
In the context of the Kingdom of Bahrain's celebration of its National Day on December 16 every year, and on the 16th accession anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the GCC-Stat extends sincere congratulations to the leadership and people of the Kingdom of Bahrain. On this special occasion, the GCC-Stat would also like to commend the Kingdom of Bahrain on its remarkable and civilized achievements, and grand edifice in all aspects of human and sustainable development, marking a new prosperous phase in the history of the nation; a phase of pride, progress and advancement that contributes to providing a decent life for its loyal people under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King - may Allah protect him – whose insightful vision has earned the Kingdom its prominent global position with regard to human development and placed it at the forefront of Arab countries for years to come.
The 60th ISI World Statistics Congress (WSC) is taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during 26–31 July 2015.
The WSC is the flagship conference of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and its seven associations. It is a biennial conference with a rich tradition, this year hosted and organized by Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in Brazil.
Monday the 26th of October 2015, the GCC-Stat held the second meeting for the Standing Committee of Economic Statistics in Muscat where the economic statistics officials in the GCC countries discussed key issues in the field. Moreover, the members of the Standing Committee of Economic Statistics reviewed the meeting agendas of the working groups that are within its scope of work.
The Gulf Cooperation Council Statistical Center hosted over three consecutive days a workshop on the general energy balance in the Gulf Cooperation Council with the participation of national GCC statistic centers and representatives from Oil & Gas Ministries.
