The prices of consumer goods and services in the GCC countries increased over the 12 months to July 2024 by 1.4%

The prices of goods and consumer services in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased by 1.4% in July 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to figures issued today by the Statistical Center of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the housing group witnessed an increase of 5.8%, the restaurants and hotels group 2.0%, the culture and entertainment group 1.7%, the education group and the goods and services group 1.1% each, and the food and beverage group 1.0%. On the other hand, prices decreased in the health group by -0.3%, the clothing and footwear group -0.7%, the tobacco group -1.0%, the communications group -1.5%, the furniture and household equipment group -2.1%, and the transportation group -2.6%.

The prices of consumer goods and services (excluding housing)[1] in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased by 0.8% Over the 12 months to November 2019, according to figures released today by GCC-Stat, the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council of the Arab Countries of the Gulf.

The biggest increases were for Recreation 8.0%, Tobacco 2.8%, Furnishings 1.9%, Miscellaneous 1.8%, Education 1.4%, Health 1.3%, Restaurant & Hotels 1.1% and Food 0.6%. In contrast, Clothing and Footwear decreased by -2.1%, Transport group -1.2% while there no change in Communication.

The biggest increases were for Recreation 4.6%, Tobacco 2.8%, Education 1.7%, Furnishings 1.0%, Restaurant & Hotels 0.9%, Health 0.7%, Miscellaneous 0.4% and Communication 0.1%. In contrast, Transport decreased by -1.5%, Clothing and Footwear-1.4% and Food -0.3%.

The prices of consumer goods and services in the GCC countries increased over the 12 months to JUNE 2024 by 1.2%

The prices of goods and consumer services in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased by 1.2% in June 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to figures issued today by the Statistical Center of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the housing group witnessed an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, the culture and entertainment group 3.1%, the restaurants and hotels 1.8%, the food and beverage 1.3%, the goods and services 0.7%, and the education 0.6%. On the other hand, prices decreased in the health group by -0.7%, the clothing and footwear -0.9%, the tobacco -1.0%, the communications -1.6%, the transportation -2.2%, and the furniture and household equipment -2.4%.

The biggest increases were for Tobacco 2.5%, Restaurant & Hotels 2.0%, Education 1.7%, Furnishings 1.1%, Recreation 0.7%, Health 0.5% and Food 0.3%. In contrast, Clothing and Footwear decreased by -1.6%, Miscellaneous -1.0%, Communication -0.6%, and Transport-0.4%.

The biggest increases were for Food 5.0%, Tobacco 3.6%, Clothing and Footwear 2.9%, Miscellaneous 1.2%, Education 1.1%, Furnishings 0.2%. In contrast, Recreation declined by
 -6.0%, Transport -3.6% Restaurant & Hotels -0.7%, and Communication -0.2%, while there is no change in Health group in this month.

In contrast, Clothing and Footwear and Transport group decreased by -1.1%, while the Communication group did not record any change this month.

The biggest decreases were for Transport -3.2%, Recreation -0.6%, Communication -0.4%, Food -0.1%. In contrast, Tobacco increased by 2.7%, Education 1.8%, Clothing and Footwear 1.5%, Restaurant & Hotels 1.3%, Furnishings 1.0%, Health 0.5% and Miscellaneous 0.1%.
