The prices of consumer goods and services in the GCC countries increased over the 12 months to April 2020 by 0.8%

The prices of consumer goods and services (excluding housing)[1] in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased Over the 12 months to April 2020, according to figures released today by GCC-Stat, the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council of the Arab Countries of the Gulf.

The biggest increases were for Food 5.0%, Tobacco 3.6%, Clothing and Footwear 2.9%, Miscellaneous 1.2%, Education 1.1%, Furnishings 0.2%. In contrast, Recreation declined by
 -6.0%, Transport -3.6% Restaurant & Hotels -0.7%, and Communication -0.2%, while there is no change in Health group in this month.

The biggest increases were for Recreation 5.7%, Tobacco 2.7%, Miscellaneous 1.8%, Education 1.4%, Furnishings 1.0%, Restaurant& Hotels 0.9%, Health 0.8%, Food 0.6%, and Communication 0.1%. In contrast, Clothing and Footwear decreased by -2.4%, and Transport group -1.9%.

The biggest increases were for Recreation 3.9%, Tobacco 2.8%, Education 1.5%, Restaurant & Hotels 1.4%, Furnishings 1.2%, Health 0.7%, Food and Miscellaneous 04% each. In contrast, Transport decreased by -1.2%, Clothing and Footwear -0.9% and Communication -0.2%.

The biggest increases were for Tobacco 10.3%, Transport 6.2%, Restaurant & Hotels by 6.0%, Food 3.8%, Furnishings 3.6%, Health 2.8%, Recreation 2.1%, Education 2.0%, Clothing and Footwear 1.9%, Communication 1.7%, and Miscellaneous 1.0%.
