In the context of promoting the use of the Harmonized Geographical Information Systems (GIS) platform for the analysis and dissemination of statistics

In the context of updating and developing the environment and energy statistics system, The GCC-Stat adopts a system development project in cooperation with the national statistical center of the six Member States. The project aims to adopt international standards, promote the compilation and use of a standard manual for all energy goods based on the standard international classification, in addition to adopting the energy statistics system and building national energy balances. To achieve these objectives, the plan to conduct the harmonized survey plan in all Member States has been approved and the first survey will be implemented in the industry sector in the final quarter of 2016.

Cooperation with customs administrations in the GCC countries in partnership with national statistical agencies to harmonize foreign trade statistics.

Employment, unemployment, under-employment, discouraged workers, wages … according to international methodologies by end of 2017

The development of labour statistics in cooperation with the GCC countries according to the latest international standard classifications, through the systematic preparation of methodology documents, instructions and guidelines, standards and rules for accuracy, consistency and data quality, in addition to the extraction and dissemination of standardized detailed statistics of all six member countries so that it is possible to disseminate aggregated statistics at GCC level.

The development and production of the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (CPI) to measure inflation in the GCC market by the end of 2020.

In partnership with the national statistical agencies, cooperation with international organizations and with the help of experts, aggregated regional indicators have been compiled. The GCC-Stat supports the development of price collection and analysis system and the compilation of an index based on a methodology consistent with the international standards and recommendations, and in line with the local nature of the markets in the Member States. This will be achieved through the release of interim versions of national consumer prices indices that are based on a shift from the status quo to the ideal situation with regard to the compilation of these indicators within five years.
