General Secretary of the GCC attends the ceremony of giving the ISO Certificate 27001 in information security to the GCC – STAT
Under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, General Secretary of the GCC, who attended the ceremony of giving the ISO Certificate 27001 in information security to the GCC – STAT, which was held on Thursday morning, 6th of September at the headquarters of the Center in the capital of Oman, Muscat.
His Excellency Sabir bin Said Al Harbi, The Director General of the GCC – STAT, said during his speech at the beginning of the ceremony that “the GCC – STAT by obtaining the ISO certificate 27001 in information security showed its commitment on protecting its information systems, and the standards for the quality of security and protection of information, which gives confidence to member countries on the procedures carried within the Center, especially when it is concerned with statistics and figures”.
His Excellency the General Secretary of the GCC also expressed his deep pride and appreciation for the GCC - STAT on obtaining the ISO certificate 27001 in information security, pointing that, if one of the bodies of the GCC obtaining such an international certificate, is a sign of an excellence and that there is an integrity in the strategic approach developed by the Executive Management in the Center. It also reflects the high performance of its staff, praising the efforts exerted by the Center with all efficiency and ability to contribute in the development of performance and improve the GCC – STAT work and enhance the joint cooperation between the competent bodies of statistics in the GCC countries and ensure that the sustainability, integrity and security of information are maintained.
