GCC-Stat Hiring Drive Attracts Talented GCC Nationals

The Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-Stat) recently announced a number of vacancies and have commenced a hiring round for qualified Omani and GCC nationals as well as international experts in the statistics sector.

 

The GCC-Stat centre has been receiving huge numbers of applications, from within Oman and the wider GCC, to fill the vacancies announced in various administrative, technical and research-related roles. Applicants are competing to join the GCC-Stat team where selected candidates will work in departments such as economy, social and demographical statistics, research and analysis, information system, project management and various departments

Ahmed Hamoud Al Shukairi, Head of Human Resources Department at GCC-Stat, noted: “Since the establishment of the centre we focused on strengthening our team by implementing best international HR practices and by bringing in the best of local talents as well as regional and international expertise. We have successfully hired a number of professionals in the statistics sector from the region and from abroad, and we are looking forward to expanding the team. Various professional training and development programmes are conducted on a regular basis in order to ensure the quality of the work we do. Furthermore, GCC-Stat members of staff regularly participate in conferences and workshops locally and internationally, which keeps them up-to-date with the latest developments in the statistics field. All these practices are part of our HR strategy that aims to maintain a strong team of professional statisticians and to build a comprehensive and integrated statistical system that present the GCC member states as a unified body.”

“Candidates should be between 18 and 55 years of age, and should possess relevant university degree and work experiences, excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and representational skills, ability to communicate in English and Arabic, as well as general knowledge of the GCC region and the GCC statistical system,” added Al Shukairi.
